Biography

Wang Bin, PhD in Engineering, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Vice Dean of the School of Biology and Biological Engineering, South China University of Technology, and recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award in the Teacher Teaching Honors System of South China University of Technology. He serves as a council member of the Functional Fermentation Products Branch of the China Fermentation Industry Association, an expert in undergraduate education evaluation for regular higher education institutions at the Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, an expert reviewer for the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, an expert reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, an expert reviewer of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and other institutions, and a rural science and technology commissioner in Guangzhou. His research interests include: molecular regulation and heterologous synthesis of bioactive natural products; synthetic biology; metabolic engineering; and industrial and pharmaceutical enzyme production applications. He has led more than ten projects, including projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program of China Green Biomanufacturing, and the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Provincial. He has published over 60 articles in journals such as *Nucleic Acids Research*, *BMC Biology*, *Microbiological Research*, and *International Journal of Biological Macromolecules*. In 2022, his undergraduate course Genetic Engineering was selected as a first-class offline course in Guangdong Province. In 2024, his course Genetic Engineering was selected as a demonstration course for ideological and political education reform in Guangdong Province.
