Lichun Jiang, Ph.D., is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. He serves as a member of the National Expert Panel on Non-Coal Mine Safety Production, the Guangdong Provincial Expert Panel on Emergency and Safety Management, and the Guangdong Provincial Expert Panel on Firefighting and Rescue.
Prof. Jiang has long been engaged in theoretical research and engineering practice in the fields of geotechnical engineering, systematic safety of large-scale and mega-scale underground structures, and the prevention and mitigation of engineering geological hazards. His research philosophy emphasizes the application of fundamental principles to address complex engineering problems, with a focus on restoring and enhancing the functional performance of engineering systems. He possesses a solid theoretical foundation and extensive practical engineering experience.
He has served as the principal investigator for numerous major research projects, including sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, projects under the National Science and Technology Support Program, research projects of the Ministry of Natural Resources, as well as over 50 industry-commissioned projects. Additionally, he has participated in safety assessments for more than 300 complex engineering projects nationwide.
As a core contributor, Prof. Jiang has also been participated in several major national research initiatives, including projects under the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the “973” National Basic Research Program, and NSFC Innovation Group projects, making sustained contributions to the economic and social development of Guangdong Province.
