AboutProfessor Liang Jun (PhD) is a distinguished composer, conductor, and educator. He is currently serving as the Dean of the School of Arts at South China University of Technology and as a doctoral supervisor. Widely recognized for his contributions to contemporary Chinese music and aesthetic education, Professor Liang is a member of the Seventh Cohort of Guangdong Leading Talents in Publicity, Ideology, and Culture. He also serves on national and provincial academic and artistic bodies, including the Ministry of Education’s National Aesthetic Education Teaching Steering Committee and the Council of the Chinese Musicians Association. He is a Presidium Member of the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Musicians Association, and Vice President of the Guangdong Choral Association. Professor Liang’s compositions have garnered major national awards, including the Excellence Award of the 16th National Music Composition Competition, the Lu Xun Literature and Arts Award, the Zijin Choral Festival Composition Award, and the Gold Prize of the First Guangdong Symphony Competition—the Xinghai Music Award. As a conductor, he received First Prize (Category B) in the National Choral Conducting Competition (“Zhongshan Cup”), and the choirs under his leadership have achieved top distinctions at both provincial and national levels. He is the author of the monographs Textural Techniques in Denisov’s Works and Choral Training, along with two personal composition collections. His research and creative projects have been supported by the National Arts Fund and the Ministry of Education. His excellence in teaching has been recognized with awards such as SCUT’s Nanguang Award and the “My Favorite Supervisor” honor.
