AboutLiu Jiaxin, a pipa faculty member at the School of Arts, South China University of Technology, graduated from China Conservatory of Music. She participated in the recording of entrance music for the 2008 Olympic Games and performed at the opening ceremony. She also took part in the Bianzhong Ritual Music performance welcoming Chinese and U.S. heads of state at the Great Hall of the People. Invited by the Ministry of Culture, she joined the Strings and Yangko: Celebrating Chinese New Year tour in Hungary and Croatia. Liu has been frequently invited to perform and exchange in various regions across China as well as in the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries, and has recorded for CCTV's Feng Hua Guo Yue program. She has won awards in national and provincial-level traditional instrumental music competitions such as the Wenhua Award, Dunhuang Cup, CCTV National Instrumental Music Competition, Yungang Cup, the Chu-Han Rivalry Cup in Bengbu, Anhui, and the Golden Melody award in Hunan.
