AboutLixin Liu is a lyric coloratura soprano and lecturer in the vocal department of the School of Arts at South China University of Technology(SCUT). She was the first Chinese soprano to be contracted by the English National Opera(UK), and has collaborated with world-class ensembles such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hallé Orchestra. Her career as a performer includes appearances at major international venues, including the Royal Albert Hall (London), the UK Parliament, the O2 Arena (London), Cadogan Hall (London), Bridgewater Hall (Manchester), Leeds Town Hall, and Newcastle City Hall. She has been invited on numerous occasions to perform as a soloist for official events hosted by the Chinese Consulate-General in Manchester. Her major stage appearances include the commemorative gala The Belief of a Nation, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s birth at Cadogan Hall in London, and the leading role in the School of Arts of South China University of Technology’s original opera The Wedding on the Execution Ground at the Guangzhou Opera House.Lixin is now committed to integrating vocal pedagogy with stage performance and actively promotes cultural exchange between Chinese and Western musical traditions. She continues to build a distinctive artistic bridge between teaching and performing, fostering a deeper dialogue across cultures through music.
