Ma Bo

Composer and music producer, Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at the School of Arts, South China University of Technology (SCUT), Director of the Department of Musicology, Deputy Director of the SCUT Contemporary Music Creation Center. He also serves as an advisory committee member of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Creative Arts, a council member of the Guangzhou Youth Modern Music Association, a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, and a member of the Chinese Electroacoustic Music Society.

He has long been dedicated to composing new music, with works spanning a wide range of genres and styles. He has independently or collaboratively created numerous important compositions with distinct personal characteristics, many of which have won provincial and ministerial-level awards. Major works include:

• Impression of Helou(Symphonic Tone Poem) — awarded the Xinghai Music Prize in Guangdong Province

His works have been performed at prestigious venues such as the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Guangzhou Opera House, Xinghai Concert Hall, Xi’an Concert Hall, Lanzhou Concert Hall, Tsinghua University, Central Conservatory of Music, and Xi’an Conservatory of Music.

As a music producer, he has composed, produced, and recorded a wide range of commercial music for various contexts, covering serious music, folk music, film and television, electronic music, dance, and pop music, earning widespread acclaim.
