Biography

Jialong Jiao works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at South China University of Technology (SCUT). He received Bachelor's Degree and Doctoral Degree in College of Shipbuilding Engineering at Harbin Engineering University (HEU) in 2012 and 2016, respectively. He has a one-year working experience in CENTEC of University of Lisbon in 2021. His research interests include ship seakeeping performance, wave loads and hydroelastic responses.

Research Areas

● Wave theory: Water wave theory, random wave theory, wave measurement and analysis, short-crested waves and directional spectra;

● Ship seakeeping: Potential flow theory, CFD, SPH technology for ship hydrodynamics, ship resistance and anti-rolling;

● Ship wave loads: wave loads, slamming loads, green water on deck, ship structure response;

● Ship hydroelasticity theory: wave induced vibration, slamming loads, modal superposition theory, CFD-FEM coupling simulation;

● Hydrodynamic tests: tests on the resistance, wave added resistance, wave loads, hydroelasticity of tank model, large-scale model sea trial.
