Biography

Wu Xushu, male, from Jieyang, Guangdong Province, of Han ethnicity, a member of the Communist Party of China, holds a Doctor of Engineering degree. He is an associate professor and a doctoral and master's supervisor. His main research and teaching focus is on composite disasters and intelligent prevention and control. He has received the Second Prize of Guangdong Province for Natural Science, the Excellent Instructor Award of the Second/Third/Fourth/Fifth National Water Science Numerical Simulation Innovation Competition, and other honors. He has successfully led several projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National 14th Five-Year Plan Key Research and Development Program, the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and the Guangzhou Basic Research Program. He has published over 30 papers in international high-level journals (including 3 hot papers in ESI and 7 highly cited papers), and his achievements have been cited and positively evaluated by international renowned institutions and journals such as the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, the United States Department of Agriculture, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Nature subsidiary journal Nature Communications. He is an outstanding young editor of Hydroelectric Power Technology, a young editor of People's Pearl River, and the chief editor of a special issue of the Water Journal (JCR Q2). He has obtained or applied 6 invention patents and 2 software copyrights, and has published 2 monographs.
