Biography
Yang Lele is an Associate Professor and PhD Supervisor at South China University of Technology. He serves as a Council Member of the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, and as Deputy Secretary-General of the Intelligent Robotics Professional Committee of the Guangzhou Information Association. He has been selected for the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program of the China Association for Science and Technology, the Guangdong Provincial International Training Program for Outstanding Young Talents (Postdoctoral), and the Guangzhou Young Scientific and Technological Talents Support Program. He has received the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (ranked first) and the Second Prize of the Invention and Entrepreneurship Achievement Award of the China Invention Association (ranked first). He has served as the Principal Investigator of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scientists Fund and General Program), the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation (Young Scientists Fund and General Program), the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (Special and General Programs), the Guangzhou Young PhD Start-up Program, Double First-Class University Construction Projects, as well as multiple commissioned projects from enterprises and institutions. As the leading investigator of a participating institution, he has been involved in the National Key R&D Program of China and Young Scientists Projects, group-based key research projects of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and the Nansha District Key Science and Technology Programs. He serves as an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Hydrodynamics and Journal of Hydrodynamics, Series B, and as a Young Editorial Board Member of Petroleum Science, Ocean Engineering, Journal of Northeast Petroleum University, and Chinese Journal of Applied Mechanics. He is also a member of the Fluid Mechanics and Engineering Committee of the Guangdong Society of Mechanics, a member of the Expert Committee for Digital Guangdong Development, an evaluation expert for the CSCI-ED Technology Core Database, and an expert reviewer for the National High-Tech Industry Innovation Center. He has long been dedicated to frontier research in marine engineering, focusing on the core scientific and engineering challenge of multiphase flow in pipelines for deep-sea resource development. Aiming at the safe, efficient, and green utilization of deep-sea resources, he has established three complementary research directions: Pipeline-based high-efficiency oil–gas–water multiphase separation technologies for deep-sea oil and gas development, enabling low-energy-consumption and low-emission in-situ processing; Theories, optimization methods, and intelligent equipment for liquid–solid multiphase transportation in pipelines for deep-sea mineral exploitation, supporting green, efficient mining and safe transportation of deep-sea minerals; Gas–liquid and liquid–solid phase-change ocean thermal energy conversion technologies, addressing the challenge of capturing low-grade thermal energy.
