BiographyZhao Lunyang is an associate professor. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Exploration Technology and Engineering from Anhui Jianzhu University in June 2013. Subsequently, he earned dual Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from Université de Lille, France (in July 2019) and in Geotechnical Engineering from Hohai University, China (in September 2019), under the supervision of Prof. Jianfu Shao and Prof. Qizhi Zhu, respectively. From October 2019 to October 2022, he conducted postdoctoral research at South China University of Technology under the mentorship of Academician Yuanming Lai. Since October 2022, he has been engaged in teaching and research at the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, South China University of Technology. His long-term research focuses on multiscale and multiphysics coupling constitutive theories for rock mechanics and advanced numerical algorithms. He has published over 60 academic papers, including more than 40 SCI-indexed papers as the first or corresponding author in renowned journals such as Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids (2 papers), International Journal of Plasticity (5 papers), International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences (2 papers), and Computers and Geotechnics (4 papers). He holds 8 authorized patents and 10 registered software copyrights. He has presided over 6 national/provincial-level longitudinal research projects and participated as a key member in 2 Key Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His awards include the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award in Civil Engineering of Jiangsu Province (2020), the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (2021), the First Prize of Gansu Province Science and Technology Progress Award (7/15, 2023), the Special Prize of Jiangsu Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (3/4, 2024), and the Second Prize of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award (8/10, 2024). He also serves as a committee member of the Multiphysics Coupling Committee and a council member of the Frozen Soil Rock Mechanics and Engineering Branch within the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering. Furthermore, he acts as a peer reviewer for over 20 international journals, including International Journal of Plasticity, International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, and Acta Geotechnica.
