Biography

Zhao Lunyang is an associate  professor. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Exploration Technology  and Engineering from Anhui Jianzhu University in June 2013.  Subsequently, he earned dual Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from  Université de Lille, France (in July 2019) and in Geotechnical  Engineering from Hohai University, China (in September 2019), under the  supervision of Prof. Jianfu Shao and Prof. Qizhi Zhu, respectively. From  October 2019 to October 2022, he conducted postdoctoral research at  South China University of Technology under the mentorship of Academician  Yuanming Lai. Since October 2022, he has been engaged in teaching and  research at the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, South  China University of Technology.

His long-term research focuses on multiscale and multiphysics coupling  constitutive theories for rock mechanics and advanced numerical  algorithms. He has published over 60 academic papers, including more  than 40 SCI-indexed papers as the first or corresponding author in  renowned journals such as Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids (2 papers), International Journal of Plasticity (5 papers), International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences (2 papers), and Computers and Geotechnics  (4 papers). He holds 8 authorized patents and 10 registered software  copyrights. He has presided over 6 national/provincial-level  longitudinal research projects and participated as a key member in 2 Key  Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His  awards include the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award in Civil  Engineering of Jiangsu Province (2020), the Outstanding Doctoral  Dissertation Award from the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and  Engineering (2021), the First Prize of Gansu Province Science and  Technology Progress Award (7/15, 2023), the Special  Prize of Jiangsu Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (3/4, 2024), and the Second Prize of Guangdong Province  Science and Technology Progress Award (8/10, 2024).  He also serves as a committee member of the Multiphysics Coupling  Committee and a council member of the Frozen Soil Rock Mechanics and  Engineering Branch within the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and  Engineering. Furthermore, he acts as a peer reviewer for over 20 international journals, including International Journal of Plasticity, International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, and Acta Geotechnica.
