Zhang Run

Zhang Run is currently an Associate Professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Engineering Mechanics, School of Civil Engineering and Transportation at South China University of Technology. His research focuses on numerical methods and their applications in computational mechanics, nonlinear mechanics, and multi-physics coupling mechanics. Recently, he has been conducting research on numerical models under multi-scale and multi-physics coupling conditions based on the weak form quadrature element method, as well as nonlinear dynamic algorithms. He earned his Bachelor’s degree (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) from the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. Since September 2016, he has been engaged in teaching and research at the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, South China University of Technology. From August 2019 to September 2020, he conducted collaborative research as a visiting scholar at Rice University. As a project leader, he has overseen multiple national and provincial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation General Program and Youth Fund Program. He has published over forty high-quality academic papers as the first author or corresponding author.
