BiographyAdam Grydehøj (male) is a citizen of Denmark. He is a professor and doctoral supervisor at South China University of Technology’s School of Foreign Languages. He holds a PhD in Ethnology from the University of Aberdeen’s Elphinstone Institute. Professor Grydehøj is a leading scholar in the multidisciplinary field of island studies and researches more widely in the intersection of culture, infrastructure, and economy in island and coastal spaces. He has published over 80 papers in authoritative academic journals, including over 60 papers in SSCI, SCIE, and AHCI journals such as Area, Cities, Folklore, Geoforum, International Journal of Disaster Risk Science, Neohelicon, Political Geography, and Urban Studies. He is former editor-in-chief and current associate editor of Island Studies Journal (SSCI) and now serves as editor-in-chief of Folk, Knowledge, Place, a journal at the intersection of human geography and folklore studies. Professor Grydehøj is an executive committee member of the International Small Island Studies Association. His research focuses include island studies and urban culture studies.
