AboutXu Ying serves as Associate Dean and Professor at the School of Foreign Languages, South China University of Technology. He is a doctoral supervisor and a postdoctoral co-supervisor, recognized as a Distinguished Curriculum and Ideological Teaching Expert by the Ministry of Education. Currently, he holds several key positions, including membership on the National College English Test (CET) Committee under the Ministry of Education, and head of the Guangdong Marking Center for the CET-4 and CET-6. He is also a standing committee member of both the Language Testing and Evaluation Professional Committee and the Educational Linguistics Professional Committee under the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese. In 2024, Dr. Xu was ranked among the top 5% of highly cited Chinese scholars according to CNKI. He has led 13 national and ministerial-level research projects, including grants from the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Fund, and the Guangdong Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Office. His accolades include the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award, as well as a Special Prize and a First Prize in Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. Dr. Xu has also contributed to developing two nationally and provincially recognized first-class undergraduate courses: “Academic English” (ranked 5th) and “Case Analysis in Business English” (ranked 1st). He has published nearly 70 high-quality papers in SSCI Q1 and CSSCI-indexed journals. Additionally, Dr. Xu has authored or edited six books, such as *Oral Academic English Course*, published by leading academic presses including Science Press, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Fudan University Press, and South China University of Technology Press.
