Zhan Shuangjuan

Zhan Shuangjuan is Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Postdoctoral Co-Supervisor at South China University of Technology (SCUT). Recognized as a National Curriculum Ideology and Politics Teaching Master by the Ministry of Education as well as the Director of a National First-Class Undergraduate Course, she currently serves as Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at SCUT and the researcher of Center for Regional and Country Studies under the Ministry of Education.

To date she has led more than ten provincial- and ministerial-level projects, including projects from the National Social Science Fund, the National Education Science Planning Project, the Guangdong Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Office and the Guangdong Higher Education Teaching Reform Project. She has published over 20 articles in journals such as Foreign Languages in China, Journal of Higher Education and Contemporary Foreign Language Studies and has authored, translated, or edited 12 monographs, translations, and textbooks. Her multiple policy advisory reports have received positive comments from national and provincial-level leaders.

Her professional service includes Vice-Chair and Secretary General of the Committee on International Communication of Chinese Culture, China Association for Comparative Studies of Language and Culture (CACSL); Board Member of Foreign Language Teaching Research Committee, China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese (CACSEC); Board Member of Professional Committee for Foreign Language Teaching Materials Research, China Association for Comparative Studies of Languages and Cultures; Board Member of Professional Committee for Transknowletology, China Association for Comparative Studies of Languages and Cultures and Board Member of The Translators Association of Guangdong Province.
