Biography

Feiqi Deng received the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, in June 1997. Since October 1999, he has been a professor at South China University of Technology. He is currently a Fellow of CAA, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a member of the Technical Committee on Control Theory (TCCT).  He also serves as the Chair of the IEEE CSS Guangzhou Chapter, the Director of the TCCT Technical Committee on Stochastic System Control, and an Associate Editor of Mathematical Modeling and Control, among others. His main research interests include stability, stabilization, and control of complex systems, including time delay systems and stochastic systems. In recent years, he has published over 300 papers in IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica and other prestigious journals, and has led more than 20 national and provincial-level research projects.

His excellence in research and teaching has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Nanyue Excellent Teachers Award, the highest teaching honor in Guangdong Province (2015), and the Excellent Graduate Award for Supervisor from South China University of Technology (2021). He has also guided multiple doctoral students to receive Excellent Doctoral Thesis Awards at national, provincial, and university levels.

His scientific contributions have earned him significant accolades. He has been ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists from 2022 to 2025 and is a recipient of the Dingying Science & Technology Award (the highest science and technology award in Guangdong Province, 2003). He also received the National Special Allowance in 2002. Furthermore, he has been awarded multiple Natural Science Awards from Guangdong Province (1996, 1999, 2011) and the Science & Technology Progress Award among Chinese Universities (2001).
