BiographyProfessor Xuegang Xin received the B.Sc. degree from the Fourth Military Medical University, Xi’an, China, in 1993, the M. Sc. Degree from the Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2002, and the Ph. D degree in biomedical engineering from the Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China, in 2011. From 1993 to 1999, he worked as a managing engineer. His expertise is designing and maintaining electrical medical devices and equipment. From 2002 to 2008, he was in charge of a company dealing with medical equipment manufacture and trade. From 2008 to 2017, he has been with the Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China, as a professor. Since 2017, he has been with the South China University of Technology, in the same city of Guangzhou, China, as a professor and dean of the department of Medical Imaging Science & Technology, vice dean of school of medicine, executive vice dean of the institution of life science in the university. He has taught courses at the advanced graduate level in advanced mathematics, medical physics, electromagnetic fields and waves, and principles of medical imaging, etc. His research interest includes medical imaging such as MRI, microscopy imaging in basic biomedical research, medical and science equipment design, cellular and molecular biology, cellular origin and pathogenesis of cancer, and bioinformatics.
