BiographyWang Yangyu is an associate professor, a doctoral supervisor, and a postdoctoral co- supervisor in the School of Foreign Languages at South China University of Technology. She obtained her Ph.D. in Modern Languages from the University of Southampton and completed her post- doctoral research at South China University of Technology in 2023. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the English Department and the Deputy Director of the Research Center for Language Governance and Language Resources in the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area at the School of Foreign Languages, South China University of Technology. Her research interests encompass sociolinguistics, language policy, English as a Lingua Franca, English language teaching and learning, as well as cognitive neurolinguistics research on the language processing mechanism based on fNIRS and fMRI.
